Release Time

Christian Education During School Hours!

How it works

  • In Pennsylvania, state law mandates that schools must permit students to be dismissed for up to 36 hours per school year for religious instruction. This means parents or guardians have the right to excuse their children for 1 hour of school each week for religious education. This is called released time.

  • Kids Quest offers Christian Education. This will be a time for students to open the the Bible and learn the Truth presented in God’s Word.

  • This program is offered to 3rd-6th graders in the Perry and Hartman schools of Ellwood City Area School District. Cyber and homeschool students are also welcome.

  • Bible classes are held every other Thursday, from 1-2 PM. Classes for Perry (3rd and 4th grade) students are held at the First Church of God, on Mercer Road in Ellwood City. Classes for Hartman students (5th and 6th grade) are held at the Calvin Presbyterian Church on Crescent Avenue in Ellwood City.

  • Getting to Kids Quest is simple and safe! Perry students arrive by school bus, provided by Kids Quest to First Church of God. Hartman students walk with adult volunteers to Calvin Presbyterian Church right down the street.

  • Thanks to generous donations, we are able to offer this service free! Just fill out our registration form and submit it to the school and your student is signed up.

    Simple as that!

  • Register your student by printing the form below and submitting it to the school office. It is also helpful if you send us a scan or picture of your completed registration form so that we can ensure your student is included ASAP. You can register your children anytime throughout the year.
